Learn More About BES Natural Solutions

BES Natural Solutions was founded in 2004 in Baltimore, Maryland, to serve the skin needs of the owner, Bernadette Mitchell, who suffers from Meniere's disease. Like many people with a vestibular disorder, your senses can get out of control. In order to combat this, she began using handcrafted blends of body butter with her massages. These helped diminish her sensitivity to store-bought chemical agents, which are found in many deodorants, perfumes, and lotions. Bernadette expanded her collection of body butters to include her own blends of oils, creams, and other bath and body products. This collection became known as the Naturo Body Collection™ and is enjoyed by many who suffer from skin conditions and other debilitating diseases.

As a family-owned-and-operated company, we are dedicated to providing therapeutic massages and bodywork services to our clients and their loved ones. We also offer the finest natural, cold-pressed soaps; fragrant body butters; facial and body scrubs; body and massage oils; and aromatherapy sprays and body mists. This dedication is reflected in every product we sell and use on our clients during each massage session.

In addition to providing traditional therapeutic massage services, we specialize in medical massages (injury treatment), as well as geriatric lymphatic drainage and oncology massages. We accept most insurances for our clients' convenience.

Bernadette is the founder and owner of BES Natural Solutions. She is a proud honor graduate from Ashford University and the Baltimore School of Massage/Steiner Education Group and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). Bernadette has a special gift and interest in working with the elderly, people who have been injured or have other health disparities, in addition to businesses and other organizations.  This stems from her early days of providing massage to her mother and grandmother.

My mother had lupus and would be in such great pain.  There were many days that I would add her creams and massage her ever so gently.  She said I should do this for a living and would say that I was "laying hands on her."  I would always remark, why would I want to do that since I had worked as a legal assistant/paralegal for many years.

Grandma Mary and I had a bond that no other family member shared.  We had the power of touch.  After having a number of strokes, diabetes, amputation of both legs above the knee, Grandma Mary could no longer speak as she use to.  However, I would visit them both every week and would massage and comb their hair.  Grandma Mary did not have much to say, but she would ask to have her legs and her feet "rubbed."  With no knowledge of "phantom leg pain," I would rub her legs and feet and she indicated how she felt really good and would sometimes fall asleep.  While I thought it was strange at first, I would ask her every time if she wanted me to rub her feet.  While I was not raised by my mother or grandmother I thought I did not have that much of a connection until the day she died.  I realized at that time that I would not be able to "rub" her head, legs and feet.  The one connection I learned is that we did have the power of touch and that bond was now broken.

After a major layoff at my firm, while I did not get laid off - I realized that I needed a Plan B. I enrolled in the Baltimore School of Massage in Linthicum, Maryland and worked diligently to learn and achieve the highest honors. From that journey, I am honored and have received great benefit that my Plan B became Plan A!

I returned to college again and graduated Cum Laude from Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary and Alternative Health.  In our current society, people desire more than pharmaceuticals.  My craft as a massage therapist helps to provide that care and comfort.

While we provide traditional massage and bodywork services, we specialize in medical massage treatments.  I currently provide care and treatment at Future Care Lochearn, Manor Care Health Services-Woodbridge Valley, Augsburg Lutheran Home & Village and credentialed as medical staff at the MediSpa at Mercy Medical Center.
